Frequently asked questions.

What are your homewares made from?

Our 3D printed designs are all printed using sustainable Polylactic Acid (PLA). PLA is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable resources like corn starch or sugarcane.

Are your homewares eco-friendly?

Yes! In fact that is one of the best features about our products, we use PLA which is a sustainable material because it is very biodegradable compared to traditional plastics. Under high heat and humidity in industrial composters, PLA will biodegrade in a matter of months, unlike it’s traditional counterpart which sometimes can take hundreds of years. In home composting, degradation is slower and can take a few years however, especially in cooler temperatures.

Are your homewares sturdy?

PLA is very stable indoors when kept away from high heat, humidity, and direct sunlight. Under the right conditions PLA can last up to 15 years.

Note: PLA degrades faster under UV light; it becomes brittle and discolors, and PLA is also hydrophilic (absorbs moisture), which can weaken the structure and lead to degradation.
